stress is still one of my major triggers

Post by Gabes-Apg »

my current house move has confirmed that stress (physical /mental / emotional) is still one of my biggest triggers.

in the past - for me, reactions have not gone beyond 24 hours so i never classed it as a flare. I am now day three of bright orange, watery D, that is burning my skin. (and mostly it was MC mud not the watery type)
it has been over 3 years since I have had anything like this, and had to sleep wearing liners etc

time to follow my own advice!!

Hope you can get back to normal soon. I agree that stress is such a big factor for MC that it's an accident waiting to happen for many of us.

Hi Gabes,

Moving to a new home is very stressful, it is number 3 on the stressladder. 1 is the dead of a beloved person and 2 is a divorce.
I hope you are glad with your new house and it was your own choice to move.
I wish you much happiness in your new home and that your problems will soon get less.

Hope you get better Gabes. What Sonja said about moving is TRUE! It's high on the stress scale. Our neighbor, a cardiovascular surgeon informed me that moving is tough on the body and I guess the heart takes a hit too. We've moved six (6) times since we got married in 1999. Enough! My body can't take it anymore.

This is my 7th move since MC dx in 2009, and 37th in my life.

Stress does it for me. Unfortunately, "bad" stress seems pretty much unavoidable. I do believe that our gut is our second brain, our instinct, lined with neurotransmitters. I certainly experience stress in my tummy.

Perhaps pepto-bismol might help calm things down?

I sincerely hope that you turn things around soon.

Wow Gabes....didn't realize your moves in so many years!

Yes I agree completely about the stress....my job has changed completely and I have waived between good and bad days for 3 weeks now....I can't wait for a holiday break I think my brain is going to explode!

I send you healing thoughts, and hope you can settle soon! It has been a while since I have been able to visit this site, I've just been too tired every night :-(

Big Hugs to you,
Erica

Gabes, my WORD!!!!! You have moved around like crazy. 7th time since dx in 2009, and the 37th time in your life. That would kill a healthy person without MC! Good Grief Charlie Brown. I'm worn out just reading your post. Whoa, little doggie!!!!

Vit D3 and K2 and magnesium

Post by Sherryann »

I am confused about whether to take Vit D3 by itself or Vit D3 with K-2. Magnesium as I understand is necessary for absorption of Vit D3 as is K-2. I just ordered and received Vit D3 and also Vit D3 with K-2 and also magnesium spray. I haven’t started taking either of the Vit D3 supplements because I don’t know which one to take, but I did spray my stomach twice with magnesium spray this evening . Another question: when should I start taking Vit D3? Should I wait days or more to build up (if that’s possible) magnesium in my body so the Vit D3 can be absorbed? Thanks, Sherry

Hi Sherry,

Feel free to post wherever you want. We don't have any posting protocol police here (life's too short for that foolishness).

As far as I'm aware, the only reason not to take a K2 supplement is blood clot issues. Either K1 or K2 may interfere with most blood thinners, so if you're taking one of the older blood thinners (including Plavix) then you shouldn't take a K2 supplement. However, it's claimed that some of the newer blood thinners such as dabigatran (Pradaxa) and rivaroxaban (Xarelto) are not significantly affected by K2.

If it were me, I would start taking vitamin D3 immediately. It's cheap and effective. There are no absolutes — just because magnesium enhances vitamin D3 absorption and utilization by the body, doesn't mean that taking D3 alone will do no good. It mostly means that taking it when your magnesium level is adequate will make the vitamin D work much more effectively (it will allow your body to convert vitamin D3 into the active form, so it can be used by the immune system). But if you start supplementing magnesium tomorrow it will enhance your vitamin D absorption and utilization.
