I shared this with another health based group I am an admin for -
(it is a condition that is not acknowledged by mainstream health so even harder to get support and guidance to overcome)
Why in current day it is difficult to achieve long term wellness
http://fortune.com/fortune500/list/
If you have a look at the Fortune 500 top companies you will see why.
Within the top 30 companies there are at least 6 companies that make money from people being sick/getting prescription meds!
(and further down within the top 50 are the major pharmaceutical companies)
It is the 'Power' of these companies on mainstream medicine and the decisions that governments make that means that aspects like diet changes / lifestyle changes as a key part of healing will struggle to get acknowledgement
Yes, this is USA based, but USA and europe are the backbone of the global health system. classification of health issues and treatment protocols etc are formulated in these countries.
Even as pro-active as Australia and other countries are towards functional medicine, the overarching system structure is based on USA/Europe.
It highlights the limitations of a group like the MC foundation to 'take on / challenge' these companies ( that have revenue figures in the BILLIONS each year ) that diet is a key part of wellness.

My son is a type 1 diabetic. Through the last 18 years that he’s dealt with this disease, I’ve lost hope for a cure....just like cancer.....due to the money made by the use of the pharmaceuticals.
And, the cost of insulin in the US is unbelievable. My son is self employed and his health insurance is astronomical.
Very sad, indeed!

Y'all are both correct
Gabes and Linda,
I agree with you both. There will never be a cure for diabetes. Why kill the Cash Cow? I spend a fortune on my Type 1 diabetes - Novolog and Lantus insulin, test strips, glucose tablets, glucose liquids, Dexcom monitor, glucose meter, syringes, lancets, expensive Glucagon for dangerous diabetic lows, and more. Endocrinologist's appointments quarterly every year. Diabetes has been around since the beginning of time. I see minimal progress for diabetes.
Look at AIDS and see the progress the researchers have acccomplished. It was discovered in the 1990s. Like Yesterday! Almost a cure? If people would keep their zippers zipped and legs closed, that would be one cure.
I have extreme disdain for pharma companies. They want us sick and in my humble opinion they make up diseases. I am getting sick of seeing their non-stop ads that are stupid, not helpful, and drives you mad. It's embarrassing to see an ad with men who may have a crooked penis. Peroes disease or whatever. Children should not seen this garbage. Children can't be children any longer. Our country has lost it's morals and marbles. It's all about money and greed and like I said, the pharma companies want us sick. The sicker the better.
