Yogurt alternative

Post by ldubois7 »

Hi all!

I’ve recently tried Silk brand almond milk yogurt, and it works!
What a thrill!

It’s dairy and soy free.
It does have too much sugar for me, but I only use a TB (or two) on my morning fruit, and I feel normal again...haha

In 2020 they are coming out with reduced sugar products, too!

I’ve tried making coconut milk yogurt, but it’s hit or miss.
Linda :)

Hi Linda, and thanks. I have not seen almond milk yogurt yet. I have seen coconut milk yogurt but haven’t tried it. It would be nice to have yogurt as an option again 🤔. Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for sharing, Linda. I've eyeballed the yogurt in the past, but I've been hesitant to try it. I think I'll start out like you - with just a bit. Merry Christmas!

I've been eating So Delicious dairy free coconut milk yoghurt alternative for a long time with no ill effects. I don't eat it every day, or a lot at the time.

Happy holidays all,

Hi everyone,
I have considered making my own but thus far, have not, based on how much I'm already cooking /preparing for myself.

In really hoping to introduce some new flavors, I cautiously have introduced small amounts of two different kinds of coconut yogurt that I have found in stores around me (in PA), though not sure how difficult these are to find elsewhere.
I prefer the first, by far, (listed below) and feel better on it overall...

Cocojune, produced in NY- Organic, non-gmo, vegan and GF,
with ingredients of organic coconut, cassava root and pure vegan probiotics.

The second is Cocoyo, based out of California, with ingredients of Coconut, coconut water and probiotics.

Both are super pure, no additives and rather high in saturated fat, so that was a concern... but I need the calories and like I said, only so far only eating small amounts.
Wegmans carries the Cocojune if anyone has access those stores.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Thanks for the recommendation Jacqueline! I’m in PA, too, so I can look!

I know how you feel about spending a lot of time in the kitchen prepping food.
I’m glad the holidays are over, because it’s a stressful time due to the food issues. It doesn’t get any better though I’m many years into this whole MC thing!

I try to prep ahead, and anticipate, but the reality is that I’m different from everyone else who can go out to eat and drink, etc.
They will never understand the complexities.

It just is what it is!

So, focus on the positives!
Linda :)

Another successful So Delicious cocnut milk yoghurt eater here. The plain one (unsugared) kind of tastes like
sour cream.
