Is Eating Crab Safe?

Post by Redrockgal »

We are in crab season here in California and I am curious if it’s fairly safe to eat. I’m not in complete remission but I also am not currently in a flare. I’ve been controlling my LC with diet. I did find out on Christmas that I paid when I strayed! Fortunately, I am able to eat fish and prawns. I did a search here and found that some can eat snow crab and crab in soup. I would like to try fresh cracked dungeness (sp?) crab for New Year’s.

I've had no problem with Chesapeake Bay crab meat in Maryland. In Florida I get Venezuelan crab meat.

I make GF crab cakes. :pigtail:

I really seek out freshness.
