New Year's Tradition
Hello, friends. In my area of PA the tradition is pork & sauerkraut on New Year's Day to bring good luck in the New Year. I put the pork & sauerkraut in the crockpot before I went to bed last night. The smell is permeating through the house...smells so good! I will probably have a bite of pork and a bite of sauerkraut. I don't want to upset the apple cart. I don't feel the best after eating pork so I pretty much avoid it. My guys will be happy. They will also have crab dib in a bread bowl that I prepared. Yahoo! Happy New Year, everyone!

My folks always ate black-eyed peas for luck on New Year's Day. These days I just have to take a chance on having bad luck all year.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Paul here - Our tradition for New Years Eve is also black eyed peas, but Charlene can't eat them, so.... I cast a spell on the white rice and made it think it was a black eyed pea. The spell is (While waving your hands over the bowl) say "You were born rice, you were raised rice, but now you are a black eyed pea!" Hope it worked! We'll see as the year progresses.
