GI Beriberi

Post by Lilja »

Hello everybody!

I rarely visit this group, but thought I would update you of something I have experienced.

After having implemented the Root Cause Protocol, which is based on healing with minerals and vitamins, getting rid of excess iron in the blood etc, I came across a new group concentrating on Thiamine (vitamin B1).

The Root Cause Protocol helped me a lot, but I was still not walking straight, had poor appetite, poor sleep, afraid of people. Well, in short I felt that the protocol did miss something. So I started reading the studies Derrick Lonsdale has done, and I also started to follow Elliot Overton and his work with B1, and thought I would give it a try, and started supplementing with vitamin B1 (a product called Allithiamine). Allithiamine, Benfothiamine and Sulbuthiamine are said to be the best forms of Thiamine.

I then discovered that B1 helped me a lot. My gait has improved, I eat well, I'm not afraid of meeting people in social settings.

I'm not looking for a diagnosis, I only want to get my health back. But, there is something called GI Beriberi, and I have started connecting the dots.

For those of you who are interested in reading about this phenomenon, here are two articles.

Hi Lilja,

Thanks for sharing. I have a hunch that we eventually tend to run the risk of becoming deficient in virtually any of the "B" vitamins. Some seem to be more important than others.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
