Another update on Sis

Post by Lucy »

Specialist doc/surgeon is more optimistic than radiologist, so instead of the "open biopsy," Sis will just have to do another needle biopsy under ultrasound, at least for now, and that is scheduled for next Thursday afternoon. What a way to have to start the first week of the year! At least she and hubby will be able to enjoy their long weekend together before he has to return to work. At least I THINK they're now less worried than before, but you really never know for sure til the path report comes back, sooo...

Thank you all for your concern. Will let you know what we find out from that later.

Yours, Luce

Well, okay, Luce, since you asked.

My therapist is very impressed with my progress. Heck, it's only been three and a half months since I broke my neck in four places and broke my right right wrist too. I'm working, I'm exercising, I'm walking! Every once in a while I want to just break down and cry, but I don't...I carry on. You can't keep a good red-head down! I'm doing okay...thanks for asking.

Believe it or not, I care more about you and your sis than I do about me.

Love

Ahhhhhhh, Pegster,
That is soooo weet! Thankie!

Guess it seems more like 3 1/2 yrs since the accident, huh? It's amazing, all that you've been able to accomplish considering the extent of your injuries. Just so glad you didn't end up paralyzed, and it would've been from the neck down, or perhaps a major head injury. I just hope that you'll soon be past all the painful part.

Yep, us redheads ARE tough alright. Well, mine's like blond with copper spread throughout. Everyone comments about that copper color when they see me in the sun the first time. Got it from my maternal grandmother, I'm fairly certain. She wasn't even gray when the hairdresser did her hair for the coffin, and she was then 96 yrs old! Hmm, wonder if that's my fate? Always thought one could get a little more respect with a little blue hair. Oh well!

This is a good thing, as he would know because of his field of expertise. So that sounds good, they have been seeing this kind of thing for so long they can usually be pretty close when they give a prognosis.

It is still a worry till you get that final report though. Crossing my fingers for you and your sister.

Gentle hugs

N

Wishing you a New Year with lots of good news.

Gentle hugs

Hi Luce....Thanks for asking...things are busy, but good...tummy is still OK with 2 Entocorts/wk. I need to call my GI this week...I hope he doesn't try to stop the Entocort all-together...sigh...Ski School starts next Saturday and I don't need problems, if you know what I mean. Things are also better since I stopped the antibiotic I was taking for my gums. I have plenty of energy and I haven't even had a cold since school started in Sept.(knock on wood) Last year, I had 4 colds during the school year. I go to the dermatologist every 3 mos and so far, no sign of the melanoma returning...yippee! I go again this week...then I think I can taper off and go in every 6 months. Whew...hard to believe I was recovering from that a year ago. I am praying for a good year for all of us!

Here's to our health! :cheerleader: Happy New Year...Love, Jill
