9 weeks post budesonide update

Post by mrs h »

hi
im still doing ok after having to come of budz , i was on it for a total of 13 weeks, the last 3 weeks at 3mg, but stopped abruptly due to reacting to it, massive bp spikes, couldnt control my temp, continous hot flashes, very emotional, rashes, the lsit is endless,

anyway im week 9 post budz now, im doing ok, i have days of my belly flip flopping about, i dont have any WD tho, or urgency, i still keep my diary and input how i sleep, how i feel, what i eat,
i recently started having how flashes again, and bp spikes and palputations , i stopped using magnesium lotion, and hey presto it went away,

im still keeping to my safe foods, im still avoiding dairy and gluten, i add in a new food each week, this week is celery, last week was red apples with the skin peeled off, i seem to be ok with both, but obviously iv only tried small amounts right now,
surprisingly im ok with small amounts of garlic and red onion, and peppers, and chicken eggs are ok too

vegetables and fish still seem to not be my friend, so for now, i ignore them, once a month i try veg, and see if i react,

i still take vit d/k2 drops each day, i now just use 1 spray only of mag, instead of the 10 sprays it recommends, and i take an antihistamine every 2 or 3 days

what is classed as remission? should i go back to feeling how i did before all this CC kicked off? or is this my new normal?, will it come back one day, just BOOM like it did before, i minute normal, next minute my life changed,
i cook everything from scratch, and can even tolerate home made pasta sauce with gluten free pasta , but im so so wary , frightened even , of overloading my system, of knowing whats next,
im extremley thankful my nasty nasty migraines have still not come back, this is why i dont want to stop the mag spray, incase its that that is helping,

so, that is my update, im doing ok, each day is different, each day im thinking will it be today it comes back,

stay safe my friends, and thankyou for your support, if things change ill come back and update my CC journey
never regret the things you did,

Hi,

It's nice to see that you're doing well and your recovery seems to be on track. Most of us are able to get back to our original digestive condition, bowel movements, etc. We're normal except for the diet changes that we have to maintain. Some of us end up with a new normal that's not ideal, but close enough for all practical purposes. We're all different, but the younger we are, the faster we heal.

Complete recovery usually takes a couple of years for most or us (fatigue and brain fog are usually the last symptoms to resolve), although we're able to achieve remission of the main symptom (diarrhea) within a few months in most cases. Most doctors seem unable to understand that and they mistakenly believe that the digestive system should be able to heal much faster than it's actually capable of when recovering from the massive inflammation associate with MC.

Your ability to handle fiber may be the primary reason why you have difficulty tolerating vegetables, but that will slowly improve and eventually you'll even be able to tolerate raw vegetables and salads again. All-in-all, it sounds as though your recovery is on track, and you should continue to improve.

Thanks for the update, and I hope your progress continues.

Hi Mrs. H,

You are doing great!

You will eventually be able to tolerate veggies. Keep up with your once a month trial. Overcook them. Carrots, squash, or green beans are generally safest.

You will eventually be able to tolerate salads. I think it took me about 2 years before I could eat a small salad.

I see you are 50 years old. That was my age when I was diagnosed.

I am 59 now. I feel better than I did in my mid forties. I have more energy. I have no aches and pains or arthritis.
My brain is pretty good. I no longer struggle with obesity.

When I get together with friends most have them have a lot of joint pain and appear to be falling apart. I feel good!

I've had one relapse from stress and eating junky over the last 10 years but overall I am doing good.

good morning

oh brandy you sound like you have fantastic control, well done,

thankyou Tex,

my biggest issue is very high blood pressure, i was given bp pills and they caused the CC, now, since being on the budesonide its caused it to go higher, and i cant get it back down, im not overweight, i dont drink, or smoke now, and i react to every medicine the dr has given me, now im frightened to try anything as im doing so good on recovery, i have learnt breathing excersises , i walk daily, and can get a good speed up, im hoping once the inflammation has settled in my body that will help,

ill pop back soon and do another update, iv done ok on my bits of apple and celery, so ill up the amount this week, and i hope you all stay safe, keep smiling, and keep well. xx
never regret the things you did,

Be sure you are taking magnesium (if you can, or using topical magnesium if you can't tolerate oral magnesium). Magnesium treats high blood pressure. A chronic magnesium deficiency cause hypertension.
