Hello Everyone,
It's been a while since I actually posted something that held an inquiry about things.
Long story short I had bloodwork done 6-10-2019 and then I had an Explant (of my 16 yr old saline breast implants -cosmetic purposes turned suspect to most of my LC symptoms due to the silicone shell). I just had bloodwork done once more to see if an where my body is healing 8-24-2020.
Good things:
cholesterol is down 5 points
potassium is in the midrange instead of low
A1c is 5.2
Iron gained 11 points at 37.3 but the range is 11-150 and the hair analysis Dr advised it should be near 60...so this is good but needs work.
Zinc and Copper and both on the upper ends of their range but not terrible.
VitC is midrange which surprises me since I have not been diligent in taking a supplement due to the acid causing some WD.
Bad things:
VitD went down 3 points to 49 optimal level per Dr is 70-90...so have work to do there too, I used to be at 86 in 2017 - that stinks...good thing I know to increase my Magnesium while increasing my VitD!
Mag serum level stayed the same at 2.2 with a note that the therapeutic range is 4.9-8.5
Lymphocytes are 21.9 and they used to be 26.7 and 24-44 is the range...not sure what has happened here and what steps I can take to increase them knowing its probably my LC that is dominating this as all my other results for CBC look great!
Platelet count went from 197 to 168 and the range is 140-440 for that that one, so not sure what happened their either.
Tex....I guess I'm putting this out there in hopes someone else has had a situation like this with their bloodwork, regardless of why I have had it done, and can shed some light on the WHYs of the Bad things.....any issues with my kidneys being compromised trying to build up the bad things?
I need other experiences if anyone would care to share
Thanks!
Erica

Here are my thoughts:
I test my vitamin D about April and October each year. Sometimes the results are similar, and sometimes they vary widely, depending on how much vitamin D I've been taking and How much sun I've been getting. I try to keep my level in the 60–80 ng/ml range, but occasionally it's below 50 ng/ml. I don't normally worry about it as long as it's above 40, but with the COVID threat constantly hanging around, I try to make sure that the level stays above about 60 ng/ml, at least.
The magnesium serum level is automatically regulated within a fairly narrow range by the body (since magnesium is an electrolyte), so a serum test is not likely to show much of a deviation unless you've just received a magnesium infusion, or the magnesium reserves of most of your body's cells are critically low.
A below-range lymphocyte count can be due to an autoimmune issue. Was your MC active when you had that blood draw? An infection can have a similar effect. I can recall my lymphocyte count being low for no known reason a few times over the years.
Regarding the platelet count, a deficiency of B-12 has been associated with low platelet counts. Is that a possibility?

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thank you Tex,
I have been outside a lot this Spring and Summer....what I best take into consideration is my VDR Receptors in my genes...my testing said I am only uptaking 10% of the VitD that I make contact with....holy cow! So with 5000iu I'm only processing somewhere in the 500iu range and all the sun I have been getting has probably been what's kept me in at the level I am now 49. I've decided to double my intake of VitD to morning and night and up my Mag to 200 morning and night with some external mag lotion mid-day to give somewhere of 550ish mg. I will test this in 6 months.
Yes...my MC has been active this whole month of August not bad just no solid stools and no urgent trips to the bathroom. Nothing like the last few months where I was having solid stool mostly. So this is probably the culprit and I'm sure it is stress related so I'm just going to have to ride the wave at this time. I haven't been sick, in fact I haven't had any type of anything since last February which was minor in comparison to last November 2019.
I had not been taking B12 for some time....this could very well be what lowered my platelets since last year. Starting today I have gone back to my 1mg under the tongue in the morning Methylcobalmin. Thank you for pointing that out...
It feels validating to be able to come to this site and discuss situations such as this and know our MC/LC needs lots of specialized attention, but we get a little lost a long the way and Tex you are superb in spotting the holes in our process. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
I wont worry quite so much now and will get back to tending to everyday life, one of these days my body has to make a shift to better healing again. It isn't like I haven't been eating properly either.
Hugs
