I think Lou is right. When you breathe, you inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. Excessive breathing leads to low levels of carbon dioxide in your blood, which causes many of the symptoms that you may feel if you hyperventilate. I don't think it's serious, unless it starts happening with any frequency, then you should talk to your doctor about it.

Be careful Barb. Make sure when you deep breathe...that you breathe in slowly thru your nose and exhale thru your mouth....I agree with Pegster...watch that and make sure there's nothing wrong with you or we will be calling you Ms. Dizzy instead of Ms Colunbo. LOL :hyper: :bigbighug: Love Oma

Listen Calamity----Lou already calls me DIZZY LIZZIE---

It was very weird----and scarey--

PIPPI--I have everything written down--that happens to me---thats why GP  his eyes when he sees me whip out the paper--

I do have positional vertigo but I knew it wasnt that-and this is why I have to leave YOGA---too many bend overs etc. gets my Vertigo -Vertigoing

I do what I can but the main benefits seem to tag along with the *lying flat/bending over etc.

Anyway appreciate the response--
luve Barb

Barb, The fact that you seem to have been trying to get more with the faster, deeper breathing, mouth open etc. would seem to me that maybe you were not getting enough oxygen. The doc is your best bet anyway & us amateurs could only serve to confuse you & it could be something really important especially considering the problems that you had last year after your visit to AZ. Might be an idea if you payed the doc a call.

Love

I have to agree with your Twinnie - I most certainly don't want to confuse you in any way. I'm glad you have it noted for the doc.

Hi Barbara
I was astonished to read my own symptoms when you talked about your little walk. I do hyperventilate too and I have to undergo some tests.

I also agree you should go to the doctor and check it out.
It could have been just stress, but it is always better to confirm it.
In fact, I have a Spirometry tomorrow...
Next time you walk, rest from time to time, and remember breathing in slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Never use a bag to breath inside. It was said that this was good to stop hyperventilation, but it is not true...

Please, take care, and keep us updated,
Love,
Tessa
