Help for insomnia and symtoms

Post by Suwharris@aol.com »

Hi all, new to this site and think I’ve finally figured out how to use it.😊 since being diagnosed w/CC this past Nov, I’ve had many symptoms I felt were related to MC. My doc says no, so I’m asking the experts-you-are living with/this like me. Are the following symptoms caused by MC?
•insomnia and waking every hour or so with intense heat in the gut w/an urgency to pee
•low pulse rate (bradycardia)
•fatigue/weakness/dizziness
•skin rash (raised itchy welts) only on breast
•arthritis in both thumbs tight before MC diagnosis
•bad lower back pain (have had back issues for 30 years, now much worse w/MC
—————
Questions:
1. WHAT to do about insomnia? I’ve tried unisom and melatonin, but neither seem to work whereas they did work for me before CC.
2. Can the gut inflammation spread to other parts of body, like the brain😖
3. Does MC made us more prone to getting intestinal cancer? (I pray not!)
4. Concerning food sensitivities, do they occur because if the inflammation from MC, or have they always been there and just triggered by MC?
4. Is MC considered to be an autoimmune disease?

Thank you so much for your help! I’ve felt so lost and a little bit crazy trying to get to the bottom of this disease.
Have a wonderful day,
Susan Harris

See your other post for my response.

MC does not raise our risk of intestinal (or any other type of cancer) provided that we treat it properly by resolving the gluten sensitivity issue. Untreated gluten sensitivity significantly increases our risk of developing enteropathy associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL), a cancer associated with untreated celiac disease.

Thank you so much, Tex, for helping me to understand! Now that I have some answers I feel like I can handle this. I’m very grateful to you and this site♥️♥️
One other question: what do you recommend to replenish magnesium- magnesium glycinate pills, or is the liquid form better?
Again, many thanks and hope you have a great day!

Oral is much more effective. Most of us take magnesium glycinate. But some people can't tolerate any oral magnesium while they're still recovering. Try 1 tablet. If it seems to help, try two. I wouldn't recommend more than 3, scattered through the day (I take mine after meals), until after you've healed for a while. If you're referring to Doctors Best brand, 3 tablets would be 300 mg, which is a little below the RDA for women. But If it makes things worse, stick with foot baths in Epsom salts, adding Epsom salts to the bathwater for 15 or 20 minute soaks, and/or lotions or oils.

Thank you again, Tex! I feel like I got this now that you helped me understand. Have a wonderful day, Dr. Tex. Surely you are a doctor with your extensive knowledge of MC!

Thank you for the compliment, but no, I'm not a doctor. I'm only a student of MC, like everyone else here. Actually, my degree is in engineering, my experience is in agribusiness, and I've spent the last 15 or 20 years learning, writing, and trying to teach others how to best control this disease.

Well, from a former teacher myself, you’re a great student and writer. I’ve read two of your books, and gained so much good info. It’s pretty unbelievable that the majority of GI docs don’t seem to understand this disease at all. I grew up on a dairy farm in GA, and in my Dad’s later years, he raised beef cattle. Thanks again for all your help, Tex. Sure glad I met you and found this site.

Are you having solid stool? If so try 400 mg of oral magnesium glycinate taken about 8:00 pm before bed.
