COVID!

Post by jlbattin »

Ok, both my husband and I tested positive for COVID about a week and a half ago. This is my first time. I've had 2 vaccines and 2 boosters. We had been visiting family in Mississippi and spent some time down in Biloxi. I just thought I was catching cold as we had been in and out of hot and cold. We had a 3 day trip home. We went to the Little Clinic and got the Paxlovid and I do think it cut the symptoms in half. However, I'm over 10 days out now and I feel worse than I did when I started. Am thinking the Paxlovid might have turned my system upside down. But in general, the fatigue is unreal! I am going to see my PCP tomorrow to make sure it hasn't gone into pneumonia or anything like that. I'm taking all my vitamins that I normally take. I just feel like crap. Anyone got any other advice other than just letting the danged virus run its course and I've heard can take up to a month or more?

Sorry to hear that you caught Covid after being careful for so long. I wonder if you might have what has been called "rebound Covid" after taking Paxlovid. This refers to a resurgence of symptoms 5 to 10 days after taking Paxlovid. Although it has been called fairly rare, I personally know 4 people who apparently got the rebound after thinking they were over it. So I think that it is more common than admitted. I just read in the news that Dr. Fauci has rebound Covid after taking Paxlovid. Here is a link to a news article.

Hi Jari,

I second what Rosie said!

My son was put on Paxlovid last week and the doctor advised him that rebound covid could happen once he finished his treatment.

The doctor also told him to stop all supplements (he was taking vit D, vit c and zinc) while on Paxlovid.

Hope you start to feel better soon!
