My Son's Wedding

Post by Marcia K »

Hello! My son was married on Friday & we had an absolutely beautiful day for an outdoor wedding. I was able to eat the meal with everyone else. My daughter-in-law (I love saying that) make sure that everything was gf. A few of the hors d'oeuvres were not gf, but we were too busy with pictures anyway. She is a keeper and we are blessed to have her in our family. It was a perfect day in every way & the LC didn't affect me at all. I hope you all have a great week!

Awesome news and so pleased that you have supportive family members that 'get it'

Thanks, everyone! She is a sweetheart & her parents were concerned that I would be able to eat safely, too. I know how fortunate I am to have their support! It was such a wonderful day!!

Marcia, it's wonderful to have family members who are aware, concerned, and care enough to make sure you can eat safely. It sounds like your new daughter-in-law and her family are lovely. Congratulations!!

It makes such a difference when events are planned with food sensitivities in mind. Last year one of my nieces got married. It was a large, but informal outdoor wedding. In order to accommodate a lot of different food issues, they decided to "cater by Chipotle". The buffet was gluten free to start with. And then there were big bowls of all the various offerings and toppings, so that if you were dairy free, soy/legume free, vegetarian/vegan, or just about anything else, there were lots of options. And, of course, it was budget friendly as well....... a winner all around!

Just like your son's wedding, everyone felt included and part of the festivities!

That's awesome, Rosie! It's so nice to be like everyone else & enjoy the festivities without worrying about how we'll react to what we eat. Hopefully one day that will be an every day occurrence!
