I apologize for not writing more often as this group saved me when I was diagnosed over 6 years ago. Tex is right, as we get better and learn to cope with the new diet we have to face, some of us fall off this site. Again, I apologize. My road has been as bumpy as most of yours but time and patience has brought me a long way.
Norway! How much the US has to learn from them! My husband and I recently returned from 10 days there. I was rather concerned with my diet, the usual travel concern with those of us with MC. But, wow! It is government law in Norway for every food allergy to be listed on the menu right under the dish offered. They include, gluten, diary, eggs, soy, fish (any fish, not just shell fish), crustaceans, sulfites. And, they must offer alternatives. Every restaurant and bar must offer gluten free beer and I had some that was terrific.
Norway is a land of fish and there are kinds we had never seen nor heard of. I was told that although Norwegians grow up eating fish, some later develop a fish allergy.
So, in addition to having free health care and free education, this country tries to look out for everyone. It is a beautiful, friendly, spotless country.
Maybe someone from Norway, if they attend this site, will chime in.

Wow Susan that sounds like MC persons paradise!
I thought Australia was top of the list for labelling laws and food options when you have intolerances, based on your report Norway has definitely topped the list.
