Got my Tatoo....

Post by Umber »

I got my tatoo today. Once the swelling and redness are gone I will take a photo. I got it on my upper back where my professional clothes will keep it covered. It hurt like heck.....still does, it will be the last one I get. Funny how doing this sort of thing makes me feel like I have accomplished another "thing to do before I die".

After going soooo long with out having D and no meds....it has returned. I took Entocort and it made me ill. It effects my adrenal system and I have that on the mend. I feel like I am caught between a rock and a hard spot. I am taking Amodium and will see how that works. DARN IT!

Hugs to all....still so busy & we have been experiencing big time computer problems. I can hardly find a minute to log in.

Hi Lori,

I am in the same boat as you, one tatoo and NO MORE! Mine was done on a dare when with my daughter when she got one of hers. (She has many).

Mine is of a long-tailed hummingbird and a flower. The total tat is prolly 3 inches tall. I got mine on the left breast near the breastbone. After the artist started, he told me that it was the worst place for pain that a woman could have a tatoo. Nice huh!

I'm with Melissa, what is it of????

Im with the rest----what's the tatoo of???

when my daughter Lynn was about 20 she had a PEACOCK needled on her right upper arm----
I was a bit :yikes: but had to admit that it was simply gorgeous--her boyfriend @ that time *snake*(yup his nickname--real name Steve) paid for it----

As she got older she always felt that she was *branded *HIPPIE* by the way she was treated--and decided to have it removed---we took her to a specialist <in the city, and it was $$$;s to remove it--and a bit of a hassel---cus it had to be done in *layers* due to the various coloring--and then it was possible that it would leave some scarring??
Well---first she didnt have the $$$ to do it---we werent going to pay for it so there it stayed--
In all the fields of work--she always wore long sleeved tops---but now,@ her age who cares~~~~

That was one of the things she regrets---

Doug has the Grateful DEAD on his shoulders and Lori has a teeny butterfly on her ankle

ME!!!! too CHICKEN ----

Lori when did the *D* start??? Do U think the *T* had anything to do with it???

J-------and im with U-----pierced ears was my thing---and I did it MYSELF--Years back they had these *rings* that U wore on the ear--and each day U kinda pressed them together---thus in a few they pierced thru!!
STUPID---I should have gone to have them done---and the last one wouldnt go thru so my girlfriend took a potatoe and a needle and made the final puncture!!

:hammerhead: :duh: the way we go about things--

 Barbara, my aunt pierced my ears with a needle and an ice cube.
The ice was supposed to deaden the pain. Helped some. If I did it over I'd have a pro do it.

I'm not tattooed either. Waiting to hear what your's is, Lori.

My mother did not want me to have my ears pierced.....oh oh....so I went to my god mother's after school....she had pierced ears and I think I had her break the news to my mom.....my mother wasn't too mad as I recall. JJ

My sister and I each got a tatoo on the inside of our left ankles of a small red heart 25 years ago on the same day but in differant states. We were just comparing notes at Christmas and mine has faded alot, hers looks good still. I'm thinking about having mine redone to improve the color. My husband thinks it's sexy.

For peat sakes Lori! WHAT IS THE TATOO OF?

Love,
Joanna

That is the coolest thing Lori, but what did you get tattood with? It was also something that I had on my agenda of things to do in my life. I think I was about 38 yrs old when I did it, and it was for Mothers Day. I went with my daughter and her two friends. They all encouraged me and cheered me on, and everyone one of them watched me get it done. And I have it on my upper right breast. Mine is the chinese lettering that means "Harmony" it signifies what I would like in my life. Since it was after my divorce it was just another one of those rebellion things I did once I was single. You know that and going on a date with a really hunky 23 yr old doll of a man!!!

I wanted something that would always remind me of what I needed.
It was also special because I went with Mel.

Before I did, Amanda had a native rose put on her lower back. Then later a native butterfly on the back of her neck. And her fiance has many too, you know some on the biceps and so forth. I always love those ones. And for my youngest Mel, first she had a design that she made to symbolize fire, put on her lower right abdomen. The significance of the fire burning is because she lost a very close friend to an accidental shooting, and the flame is to keep her memory going and alive. SHe then has a saying in German, (her Omi was German) that means she is a child of the earth. Then a few months ago she went with her girlfriend Bethy and they had a good luck dragon that is huge done on their backs to match. And they both have weird piercings too. Mel had her nose pierced, and Beth had her N's pieced with rings. Bethy also has gone with her dad to get matching tatoos, as for her dad, Beth has been more of the guy, played basketball, got a basket ball scholarship for College, and because one of the big heroes for College, as they won the The All Canadian Championship with the winning goal when she was there. ANYhow, she has lots of tatoos, one of her nickname for her Dad, and then one that she got to match his, and there is a guy shooting a basketball hoop on one shoulder too. I think I am missing something too.

But I think that I will just stick to my one little tattoo for now.

And congrats for you getting one.

Gentle hugs

Wendy
