Looking for guidance/help

Post by KayS »

Hi, I have been diagnosed with MC since January 2023, after struggling for the last two years with watery stool. I’ve been struggling to find anything that doesn’t flare my MC, my doctor put me on Budesonide for a month with only helping the amount of trip to the bathroom. The watery stool didn’t change, he then put me on prednisone and that’s didn’t work and included some serious side effects for me. He referred me to UofM for further help, to which that doctor put me back on Budesonide and will be on it for the next two to three months. When I was traveling in Europe it was the first time I didn’t need to worry about where the nearest bathroom is. Which I don’t understand, how can being in Europe stop MC without any drugs

I’m looking for help in what foods I can and cannot eat. I’ve tried so many eliminating diets and struggling. I don’t have any dairy as I’ve found that’s a big issue

Hi,

Welcome to the group. Very interesting that your symptoms stopped while you were in Europe. Did you change anything in your diet, or any medications? Here's a link to a suggested eating plan:

and here's a link where you can either read or download a copy of a newsletter published by the Microscopic Colitis Foundation a couple of years ago containing suggestions on selecting safe foods:

https://www.microscopiccolitisfoundatio ... 479987.pdf

That should get you started, and then we can begin to focus on some of the details. Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
