Entero Lab
I was diagnosed with CC 10 years ago and I have just lived with it...neither of the Gastrologists suggested any meds. I am probably considered middle of the road as far as diarrhea frequencies. But as I approach 70, I feel like a change is needed in my diet. Unfortunately, I am pre-diabetic, take a statin for cholesterol, have thyroid issues (I had a thyroidectomy) - so finding a diet to accommodate all these issues has become a challenge. I have decided to try the Entero Lab test. I have been to the website. Which of the many tests should I take? Thanks so much for this site!

Hello and3008
I get the A1 & C1 panels.
One selling point for diet restriction for MC. Since going on a restrictive diet I have had the unintended benefits of lower blood pressure, lower triglycerides and raising my HDL. My LDL went down from 280 to 120 but I imagine part of that is due to the half dose of cholestyramine I take before bed. I no longer take any prescription meds other than the cholestyramine. My point is; you may see additional benefits with restricting your diet along with keeping MC at bay.

Re: Entero Lab
I agree with John. The A1 + C1Test Panel Combination should tell you everything you need to know about the food sensitivities associated with MC. And I also agree with him that the restricted diet most of us follow in order to control our MC usually provides many additional long-term health benefits that we never expected.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
