Could it be...
It's a bird...
It's a plane...
No, it's R A I N!
Well, I can feel it in the air, and hear a little thunder in the distance. Just hope this front won't be severe. That's just what we need, and lightening hitting all this dry stuff could be horrific.
Anyway, hope this gives some of you in drought country a little bit of hope!
Yours, Luce

Unfortunately, that front crossed about 90% of Texas before it started forming showers. The nearest shower was almost a hundred miles past us. The only change here, is that today it's cool and dry, unstead of warm and dry.
Better luck next time , I suppose. If it rains anywhere in Texas, it rains in Houston. LOL.

Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi again,
Well, as it turned out, we just got about a tenth of an inch! Boohoo! Weather people are saying we've got a couple more chances in the next five days, but now we're sooo far behind -- next over 9 inches before end of January to catch up.
Contrary to what some people think, it's mostly sunny here, just rains all at once, and gets it over with! Ha!
Really, the last couple of years we've had mild summers, and beautiful winters, the latter of which isn't all that unusual, even if we have the occasional dip down into the teens temperature wise in January. Humidity wasn't even too bad in the summers with the exception of when the hurricanes and a few other storms trapped the moisture on the ground.
Did anyone notice I made a big goof with my spelling in the previous post? I've quit proof reading/ correcting for lack of time.
Polly, are you dancing to Chubby Checker?
Your bear's got moves!!!
Ah, for the good ole days!
Yours, Luce

Hi Peggy...it started raining in Tacoma on Dec. 18th and has rained every day since! The record was set in 1953...33 days in a row! The rain has been waking me up at night...grrrrrr!
A hail storm just passed over head and the hail was hitting the skylights in my art room. The kids and I went to the windows to watch...some kids were outside trying to make snow balls.....brrrrrr!

Wellllll, shucks, Polly, it was late, and I need glasses...badly!
Polly, when you do your dance, kindly face southwest. You're turned a bit too far north, and you're about to drown some of our best buds!
Peggy and JJ,
When I hear hail, I think, opps, there are tornados around, only they're not touching down. Do you ever have tornados where you are? Water spouts? We don't get the big ones in this area, but I personally don't care for any of them!

Hi Luce....um.....we rarely have tornados in Tacoma, but we do have them in Washington.I can remember a few small ones. When I was a kid, one cut across the near-by golf course and came up our street... stopped a block away. Many neighbors lost trees and awnings, etc. I remember my dad calling a it a junior twister. I was listening for thunder yesterday....I usually associate hail with a thunder storm. Oh...the sky was that eeery color of black.....I knew sonething was brewing and was also waiting to see some lightening strikes.
Have a good day...it's supposed to be wet here AGAIN! JJ
