Anyone with MC (LC) and pre-diabetic?

What are the immediate and long-term effects of living with this disease?

Trying to figure out how to get through Phase I diet changes and not mess up my sugar. Has anyone else had success balancing both?

I don't have blood sugar problems( although I have hand in the past, when I developed a chronic magnesium deficiency), but I can assure you that we have many members here who have diabetes, and they've been able to do it. Treating MC by making diet changes requires a low-carb diet, so except for needing to avoid easy to digest foods, you may need to select starches that are not as easy to digest, but that should be a minor problem. for tips on selecting foods with the best type of starch, the Microscopic Colitis Foundation published a newsletter back in 2019 that covers starch digestibility. For your convenience, here's a link for you can either read, or download a copy of the newsletter:

I hope this helps,

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Yes, it can be tough! I found that focusing on whole foods, increasing protein, and healthy fats helped reduce sugar cravings. Also, be kind to yourself, it's a process!
