Polly, wishing you well

Post by moremuscle »

Hi Polly,

I just saw your post to Arlene in the kitchen and noticed that you are having the colonoscopy tomorrow. I know you are doing the preparations today and feeling shi**y about it - I am sorry you have to go through it; but the best thing is that soon, very soon, it will be over and you will feel so much better getting this past you.

I am thinking of you and keeping everything crossed for an easy procedure and good results.

Love you!

Hi Polly,

I'd like to add my best wishes, also. As Karen and Alice have already pointed out, once you're past the cleanout part, it's downhill from there. I also hope your exam goes without a hitch, and the results are superb.

Incidentally, I made another swing past the records department at the hospital, and picked up a copy of my endoscopy report, (colonoscopy), done June 21, 2000, (five years and seven months ago). I found it very interesting. It seems that what the GI doc recorded, and what he told me, had very little correlation. We'll discuss it when you "recover" from your exam.

Love,
Wayne

Awwwwww, you guys are the best! And you make me feel so much better as I get ready to do the dreaded cleanout! (Hey, Peg, does the poetess have any words on this subject?)

I ate one soft-boiled egg this morning and have had nothing but chicken broth and apple juice since. I am STARVING! But I decided I can have a few maple sugar candies.....since I am allowed "hard candy". I would guess it's OK since it's pure sugar. Whaddya think?

I mixed up the swamp juice earlier so it is nice and cold. As soon as I leave the Board, I will start trying to get it down. I think the thickness of the liquid bothers me as much as the saltiness. I am NOT looking forward to this. Actually, the D doesn't bother me at all - we have all had plenty of experience with D, right? It's drinking the swamp juice that I HATE.

My appt. is not til 11:00 AM, so I'll be ravenous by then. GRRRRRRR.

Thanks again, dear friends. As I fade out from the anesthesia tomorrow, I will picture all of you there with me, and I know I'll be smiling.

Love,

Polly

P.S. Wayne, I'm most intererested to know what the endoscopy said!

Hi Polly. I wish you well with the imbibing. We all know how yucky it is and are with you 100%. Best wishes for a speedy and uneventlful procedure tomorrow. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they report that you are now free of MC?

Carrie,

I would be very surprised if Polly's exam shows any evidence of the markers of MC. After all, she has been avoiding her triggers with a high degree of success, (though not quite perfect), for over three years now, if my memory is correct. I fully expect her biopsy results to reflect a normal colon.

Hang in there Polly Wolly! I am dreading mine which will be done this year (I didn't quite make it in 2005).

I'll be thinking of you tonight - tomorrow will be a breeze compared to the swamp juice tonight!

All my love,
Mars

Ah, Polly, so THAT'S why I've had your colonoscopy on my mind the last couple of days! (What perverted minds we all have!!)

Sorry about the swamp juice, but you've got to admit, the anesthesia's not half bad!

I'm with Wayne -- feel like your lumen will be poifectly gorgeous tomorrow! And then the slides later, of course. Then again, if they have to do a little snip, snip when they're in there, it will be taken care of, and you'll be glad you drank that swamp juice.

Will be anxious to hear from you afterward, and will be thinking of you til then.

Yours, Luce

Mornin' All!

Well, I'm still alive. Hopefully cleaned out enough - it's almost clear yellow water now but still just a tad cloudy. I got to a point where I couldn't swallow one more sip. My body rebelled and started the old gagging trick. And my mind as well - couldn't talk myself into it. You know, that point where you say "the hell with it, I'll just have to do it all again if this is not good enough". Some patient I am, huh? We shall soon see if I drank enough of that awful stuff.

I'll be leaving in an hour for the easy part. Yes, Luce, I do remember how nice the anesthesia was. Hope it is the same experience. And then I am going to put on the feed bag, chow down, and EAT LIKE A HORSE. Between the week-long cold and the cleanout, I've lost 4-5 pounds.

Til later.......................

Love,

Polly
