Thai Kitchen's rice noodles in a box

Hi there,

Has anyone tried the Thai Kitchen rice noodles that come in a box?

I've not tried them yet, but when I was in Whole Foods recently, a woman I'd told about the Tinkada brand rice pasta, in turn, told me about the T.K. brand Asian rice noodles.

CAMary's recent post about chicken noodle soup made that scene pop back into my head. Just sounds like chicken noodle soup would be perfect using this type of noodles!

I've used them. They are good. They have a different consistancy (consistency?) than pasta noodles. And a little goes a long way!

Hi Luce,

Use them all the time and undercook by 1 minute.
Tinkyada pasta is the best.

Luce-

I just used plain old GF spaghetti noodles in my soup! I have found those and the lasagne to be the best. I prefer Tinkyada brand, but I picked up the Trader Joe's brand (rice spaghetti) the other day as they are quite a bit less $$ - I will report back....I have found the thicker/shaped pastas to not taste as good - perhaps because they are thicker/denser, and the taste difference is more obvious - with spag. and lasagne, it's all about the sauce, LOL!!

I just picked up a box of Thai noodle meal thingy...looks like a chinese food left over box...that I'm going to try for lunch. It was a bit expensive compared to some other lunch options, but still less than getting a salad at Subway. I think I got the ginger/coconut ones. Haven't tried them yet, but will.

I've found DeBoles lasagne noodles are good...they are the kind where you don't have to cook them first...they cook in the lasagne. The kids don't even notice that they aren't "normal" noodles. Now if they'd just learn to like ricotta cheese...

By the way, I'm afraid for me, the CHEESE is what thte lasagna's about...boohoooo!

Need to ask you another question, since someone asked me the other day how long before a gf diet will show improvement if that's the only thing that one is sensitive to?

I couldn't say exactly due to the other allergens (then unbeknownst to me) still being ingested, and the fact that I did have significant small bowel damage at the beginning of being gf, and symptoms over a decade from the gs.

I believe you are one of the lucky folks not reactive to the other common allergens, so thought I'd start with you. Later, I may post this question separately. There are probably lots of the only-gf-group who no longer seek help from us. After all, they can get what they need easily due to all the gf stuff being available these days, and the celiacs have much support in their groups locally.

Polly, is there anyone else still fairly frequently posting who only has to do the gf diet without other apparent allergens to avoid?
