OMA!!!!!!!!!
Oma,
Just a suggestion but, you might call your doctor's office and let them know your situation - mainly that since being unemployed, you are unable to afford your medication. Ask them if there is an agency who assists with perscription drugs. Also ask if they can recommend something otc to help, although not as well as the rx strength.
The hospital may be aware of social service agencies who respond to needs like yours. Usually the criteria is based upon household/income, but you may qualify.
There are also nonprofits who are not social service agencies who might be able to help you. Start with your doctor and ask for referrals to other agencies/SS agencies or nonprofits. Red Cross, United Way, Catholic Charities, Volunteers of America. All of these receive government money to assist with the likes of rent, utilities, perscriptions, etc.
You doctor may also have another medicine he could offer you that he has samples of. Might do the same thing or close to the same thing but in a different namebrand.
Hope something comes thru for you soon Calamity! Good luck!
