Is MC contagious...

Post by celia »

BTW, my GI doc confirmed that my husband actually had IBD/prcotitis (it's healed or in remission now as of his last colonoscopy in Jan) whereas I have LC. So that dashes any neat little theories that could arise from the idea we might both have MC. However, I don't see why the same luminal agent couldn't have been involved and just effected us differently! Celia

Hi Celia,

IBD stands for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and, of course, as we all know, MC is an IBD. Did you mean IBS, (Irriitable Bowel Syndrome)? IBS is generally conceded by the cogoscenti of this board, to be the diagnosis of choice, when doctors can't figure out what is wrong with a patient who presents with unexplained diarrhea and no obvious markers for UC or Crohn's disease. A high percentage of IBS cases are eventually determined to be MC. It's a "catchall" diagnosis to allow a doctor to put a name on something that he or she does not understand.

WOW!

"Luminal agent"! "Cognoscenti"! I feel honored to be a part of such an erudite group! Rocket scientists have nothing on us, right?

Love,

Polly, who wishes she could find the words to tell you how articulate she is! Tee Hee!

Polly,

Your eloquent use of the word "erudite", leaves no doubt about your articulateness. LOL.

Barbara,

A polyglot is a person who speaks, writes, or reads several languages.
