Think Wati has gone

Post by Liz »

I don't think we will be having any trouble from cyclone Wati. She is still way out & moving further away. People on Lord Howe & Norfolk Islands will probably not be so fortunate. The North is cleaning up but still in a pretty bad way. It is going to take a huge amount of work & money to even look like getting things any where near normal. Fruit & cane growing was the main livlihood of the area & most of that has been flattened & this of course also effects the supporting businesses. These people have had to deal with the aftermath of cyclones before but not of this magnitude & over such a wide area. Even the Atherton Tableland was severely effected although it is some distance inland.

I really feel for those people Liz. It has got to be just horrible to go thru that. I hope they all get back to normal as quick as they can. I'm glad you weren't effected by Wati. Love Oma :flowersmiley:

I know it must have been scary waiting to see what would happen. Storms can be so unpredictable.

I hope the people who were affected recover soon and my heart goes out to them.
