Update on ghee, nuts, hubby

Post by celia »

I tested out a few foods this week:

pine nuts - mid-night waking, mild burning in legs, mild pain zingers, runny nose

mac nuts - brief mild heat sensation around my eye, mild zinger, mild pain on the side of my leg, runny nose but slept okay

ghree - a heat, sweating flash, band of tightness across upper back. mid night waking and milder burning or swelling sensation in leg, runny nose in morning.

I also had slightly loose stools for the first time in eons after the mac nuts, but I also took some elemental magnesium in the evening so I will have to wait a few days to see if it's coming from the mag. or mac.

No new foods for me!

To be honest, I'm sloppy about testing foods. I didn't take a three day break in between each food so there's a chance I have it wrong...but probably not. My reactions usually come in the first 12 hours I think. I might retest them in the future.

So Wayne, Mathew et al, you have saved me from inadvertently eating casein on a regular basis. Thank you!

Polly, I noticed that tightness across the upper back when I was bending over in the shower. I've noticed in the past on occassion but I never thought of it as a symptom or related to food. Thanks for sharing your casein symptoms! I might have never grokked its relation to casein otherwise.

My hubby is doing well. We are actually planning to go out tomorow to take him for a papimi treatment --- a magical machine that helps heal. Even the LA football teams uses it. That means a trip down the steps. But he hasn't had any problems with dizzyness, nausea, or fainting since stopping the narcotic.

Caregiving is time consuming! I really appreciate what Luce and Bobbie manages everyday. I am cooking six meals a day since he is doing the rare foods rotation diet and my rotation diet rotates differently! Oh fun! Life would be fine if I didn't have to take time for work.

Be well! Celia
I beleive in magic!
