Hi everyone,
I tried calling the doctor today to discuss my lack of energy and inabilty to stay awake but he is closed on Thursdays. My eyes literally won't stay open. I am fighting it but it is becoming a loosing battle and I am absolutely useless at work. My brain does not want to function and I have trouble pronouncing words at times. I feel like I need to sleep and NOW!!!!!!!!!!! Of course the doctor says I can't until I am ready to go to bed for the night. sigh
The Ambien is allowing me to sleep without dreams and I am getting 5 hours of sleep a night but the sleepiness during the day is getting worse. I'm beginning to wonder if I am in some kind of depression. (This has been going on before the issue with my daughter came up but has been getting worse.)
Just wanted to share - it also is keeping me from falling asleep!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
Love,
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Hi Mars,
Sorry to read that your problems are continuing. Concerning the question about depression: were you having crying spells before the wedding cancellation? You had a good reason to cry after that news, but crying without a good reason, as you know, could be a sign of depression.
Ever since my symptoms started, I've been having sleep problems. I now sleep an average of 5 hours per night, and if I only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep, I tend to get drowsy after lunch, especially if I'm working on a computer. When that happens, I sometimes take a short, (15 or 20 minutes), nap, and I'm good to go. I've never asked any doctor whether he or she liked that or not, but it works for me, and I can't tell that it has ever interferred with my regular sleep, at night.
My theory is, it's hard to screw up a train wreck, so why worry about it. IOW, maybe a power nap is in order.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Mars,
Sorry to hear you are so tired. Been there, done that!
Have you dropped caffine per the doc (I think you said that was one of his recs). If so, depending on how long its been, you might be suffering withdrawl.
Have you had a sleep study done? I thought the dream part of sleep was where we got the most rest (but I could be wrong). Maybe you have something like narcelepsy or sleep apnea. All treatable, but not fun while not treating!
Keep us posted. Like Wayne, I'm a fan of the power nap. The trick there is to not sleep more than 15-20 minutes, otherwise you can be out for hours! Refreshing but you don't get that groggy after feeling you get from a long nap.
