Got to whine!

I got my upper endoscopy biopsy results back, which are great. No sign of atrophy or inflammatory changes of sprue or Whipple Disease. I am really lucky and grateful! The biopsy report says the samples are from the duodenum.

But she didn't check for lymphocyctic gastristis...which would only seem logical in someone with lymphocytic colitis and h. pylori, which is often in tandem with LG. Arghhh! She said the lab tech would have noticed if there were signs of any other pathology, but wouldn't she have had to taken a sample from the gastruc mucosa for that to be the case? On top of that she didn't check for h. pylori which would have been a good confirmation that the infection is current. Arghhhh!!!!

Well, I think I am just going to go by the fact that Dr. Barry Marshall (who discovered the connection between h. pylori and ulcers) says that patients with HP have increased permeability of the gastric mucosa and so are potentially exposed to unprocessed antigens from food, and that this might predispose to immune problems. That is a nifty explanation of my food intolerances, given that previous testing shows I don't have intestinal permeability. Even if I do have LG, it often resolves with HP treatment.

So I continue to drink my delightful herbs and carrot juice cocktails for three months and hope this is the last piece to regaining my ability to eat more food!!!!!
