Pain in jaw

Post by celia »

Hi All,

I'm feeling so good, sleeping well, and able to eat more foods. It's like having a glimpse of good health again.

But wouldn't you know it, suddenly my jaw, teeth, and ear start aching. It comes and goes, but when it comes it can really hurt and wake me up in the middle of the night with pain. It's been a week or more now, and there's no sign of it going away.

I mentioned it to my chiropractor and he checked it out. He said it's not the saliva glands, but the masseter muscle in the face. Pain in that muscle can sometimes reflect parasites in the body. So he checked that out with muscle testing and my body says yes, I do have parasites.

Maybe this is just the period when all the bugs are coming out of the woodwork! I can probably clear the parasites in a month by using black walnut, wormwoud, and clover tincture. Just have to check with my naturopath that it doesn't conflict with current treatment regime.

Given that the muscle testing revealed the h. pylori (confirmed by a blood test), I have a lot of confidence in it---at least the way this chiropractor does it. But I also have an appointment with an ENT next week. The chiropractor encouraged me to get a second opinion as well. I doubt that the ENT will be able to find anything, but I like to be thorough.

It's really good that all the bugs are popping up now so I can handle this before I start my retreat! It is exciting to be feeling well again.

Be well, Celia

Hi Celia!

So glad to hear that you are feeling better in general.

Could TMJ (temperomandibular joint) problems be occuring? Maybe from all of the stress causing you to clench/grind your teeth......especially at night. This would cause stress/overuse of the masseter muscle. Some others here have had TMJ problems - hopefully they will pop in.

Also, you aren't on any of the osteoporosis meds, are you? Some, like Fosamax, have been found to cause a total disintegration of the jaw bone.

My final thought would be teeth. Are you sure you don't have any absesses or other dental problems? For sure, you'll want to have your teeth in tip top condition before you go abroad. It would be no fun having a dental emergency while you're gone.

Have a good day,

Polly

Polly,

You said "Some, like Fosamax, have been found to cause a total disintegration of the jaw bone."

Holy Cow!!! I just knew there was a good reason I didn't want to take that stuff anymore!! My jaw bones are bad enough already. Thanks for another reason not to do it.

Polly,

That's an interesting possibility (TMJ). I see my dentist next week and the ENT so they should be able to assess that. I don't grind or clench my teeth at night though. The funny thing is that I feel tremendously happy and joyful, and not particularly stressed even with all the activity to dissolve our lives here and the upcoming move. I imagine the stress could descend at any moment! I am generally not the happy-go-lucky type of personality!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely check it out. In the meantime, I checked with my nutritionist and have started on the Black Walnut, Worwood, Cloves tincture for parasites. She said it would boost my h. pylori treatment so there's no harm in the event I actually ddo have a parasite. I know it probably sounds strange to discover this through muscle testing, but like I said, since the chiropractor discovered the h. pylori which was later confirmed by a blood test, I have confidence in the approach. He doesn't diagnose, the muscle testing just indicates what the body is reacting to. It's useful information.

I am not on any medication for osteoporosis.
