Liquid Calcium/Magnesium Citrate with Vit D

Post by Lucy »

Hi all,

Discovered this vitamin today -- free of common allergens such as corn, soy, yeast, wheat, gluten, barley, rice, sodium and milk.

It's a liquid that can also be added to baked goods and recipes.
The liquid form is supposed to maximize assimiliation and absorption. Calcium and magnesium are in chelated forms.

Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) 400 IU/100% DV

Calcium (citrate) 1000mg (elemental)
100% DV

Magnesium (citrate, aspartate) 400mg
100% DV

Other ingredients: Purified water, citric acid, natural lemon flavor (hmm, wonder if it's made out of lemon??), cellulose, ascorbic acid.

Hmm, wonder what they made the citric acid out of since it's free of corn and other grains? Maybe beets or cane or something? Wayne, would those sources be likely? If not, what?

Perhaps tomorrow I'll be able to remember to call the lab (if I can find the number) down in Sugarland as it's just down I-59 from here, and wouldn't even be long distance.
Now, watch me forget!

Just though i'd pass along this find -- oh yeah, company is Blue Bonnet, and product name is "Liquid Calcium Magnesium citrate."

Comes is a glass bottle, so you know it's not cheap, but really need to get to work on the calcium and other stuff, particularly since I don't have a thyroid.

Yours, Luce

Luce,

I would assume that they probably make the citric acid and ascorbic acid out of citrus fruit, the way it was done back before someone discovered that virtually everything in the world could be made from corn.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
