Should I take vitamins since everything is going through me?

A There will be vitamins needed to replace minerals you are losing, etc. If you are taking them, I think you should continue to do so - some benefit will be reaped

Q Should I eat more fiber?

A In my estimation, no. It just seems to add to the D

Q Why doesn't my doctor know more about MC?

A This is not a common disease and many doctors are just starting to learn about MC/CC. Give them time and HOPEFULLY they will tune into it.

Q How is MC treated?

A The normal method is with medication but many people who are dealing with out have tried altered diets and these have proven in some cases to give more relief than med. From one who has tried diet and have it work more successfully than meds.

Q Is treatment different for CC and LC?

A ??

Q Is treatment different for CC and LC?

A  No. The treatment for CC and LC is the same, whether using medications and/or diet.

Should I take vitamins since everything is going through me?

A I didn't take any vitamins until I stabilized somewhat and got the D down to 2-3 times a day, and then I started light and added them one at a time. If one worked and didn't cause me problems I added another.

Q Should I eat more fiber?

A I do better with just the fiber I get from my food.

Q Why doesn't my doctor know more about MC?

A My GI told me that there just wasn't much research done on Colitis.

Q How is MC treated?

A I beleive that varies with the indidual. I was put on Asacol 4oomg 4 times aday with Bentyl for spasms in the intestines. I also added Acidolphlus and Vitamin C, I ate alot of yogurt and apples(plus apple juice) And Then added foods a little at a time.

Q Is treatment different for CC and LC?

A
