Diet and Entocort Update
Hi Friends,
Day 4and 5 I am still on 6 mg Entocort per day. Day 4 I was down to 2 BMs unformed and Day 5 I had 1BM puffy poop. So it's heading in a positive direction. The only side effects I have so far is some drowsiness and a tiny bit light headed....nothing terrible.
Yesterday I cut way back on my oils, limited my veggies to two 1/2 cup servings of well cooked green beans, took out one smoothie and substituted in one yam. I also ate pork all by itself as the food combining info said it was easier to digest that way. I didn't have the burning sensation in my gut afterwards this time so it either worked or my system is getting used to digesting pork. Don't know if that will affect D one way or the other though.
I've also been working on cutting back on the clonazapan that I started using after my surgery. Three weeks ago I was taking 3/4 of a 5 mg tablet split up through out the day and now I'm down to 1/4 per day. My goal is to be completely off of it in 2-3 weeks.Taking it slow as I have been on it for 9 months and it's a nasty little pill to wean off of.
I appreciate all of your input.
Love,
Cristi

Hi Cristi,
A puffy poop sounds promising! Say, I'm still having quirky problems with sending private messages to you. Have you gotten anything from me in response to your last PM?
If not, I copied a draft of it so will post it here for the world to see if need be.
Love,
Joanna

Cristi,
Maybe I don't remember you being on clonazapan? Did you get a compounding pharmacist to make it up for you. Sorry if we've been through this before, but I looked it up on the internet and it said:
Each tablet also contains lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and corn starch, with the following colorants: 0.5 mg: FD&C yellow no. 6 lake; 1 mg: FD&C blue no. 1 lake and FD&C blue No. 2 lake.
Looks like there's lactose and possibly soy...
Love, Jean

Christi,
I'm not sure I'd "wean off faster" but maybe just know that if you are reacting to those things, that while you wean off over the next 2-3 weeks you will continue to experience some issues. And since you've taken the step of taking Entocort, that will hopefully control the issues during your weaning process. You know your body though so if the weaning is going well, I guess there isn't as much of a need to drag it out.
Good luck and keep us posted.
