Stupid cereal bars in the store!

Post by annie oakley »

I got tired of the preservitives and heaven knows what else is put in cereal bars, not to mention the cost. Sooooo.....I made my own today.
1 cup dried cranberries (use what you like)
1/2 cup pecans/walnuts/or cashews Ground up finely
5 tblsp un-salted butter
4 cups toated oats
non-stick cooking spray
1 10 oz bag marshmellows

Melt butter and marshmellows on low heat, add nuts, add dried fruit and mix well. Add Oats pour into a coated cookie sheet and press down with oil coated fingers and let cool. Cut and store in airtight container

Oma, I want to try these bars, but what are toasted oats? Is it just Quaker Oats, like you'd make oatmeal out of? Or do you have to toast them? Or is it Cheerios?
