1 in 10 Teenage Girls Indulge In Self-Harm, In British Study

:cowboy:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Galahad----the article wasnt available BUT i wanted to tell U that--when Kaits wounds would open they accused of her of Munchaussen(spelling) --even accused Lynn too???

What a rip-roaring time that was---

She appears to be displaying ASPERGER SYNDROME---and will be tested for it----this is supposedly--(my words) a high grade of autisum--is totally normal but does display odd*ways*--

Its the way she SAYS whatever she feels  and goes on and on with one subject---hangs in the same clothes for dayz---and etc.-----and there were other symptons----

luve Columbo

BTW--I did go and do a search on it---and by golly I understood the entire article---

Hi Barbara,

I guess those articles are only available at Reuters for a few months.

I think that Kait's doctors are somewhat confused. Munchaussen sydrome, (you spelled it right, by the way), does not normally involve opening, or creating a wound - usually patients with this syndrome do something like contaminate an existing wound, or ingest a toxic substance to mimic a disease. Intentionally causing an infection, however would be typical of the syndrome. I guess they figured that she, (or Lynn), was causing all the infections that she was constantly having, so that's why they accused her of it.

Actually, though, the most common occurrences of this syndrome is in health professionals, often nurses, according to statistics. It's pretty rare in the general public.

Regarding the Asperger Syndrome, is her IQ normal, or higher than normal? There are a heck of a lot of people with high IQs, who have those symptoms, but they're just considered to be a little eccentric. LOL.

Luve,

I have no idea as to her IQ----I believe it is abit below normal---

They know a family----whose 25 year old son--graduated from college but sits in his room--does not communicate/or doesnt know how--with people--????---and he does not work cus of not knowing how to present himself???

And he is termed --ASPERGER---very sad indeed--
As I said many times--Lynn can make my nerves lose its ends  but she surely has been the *seeker* of all things that can be of help to Kait---
I think sometime after school sessions are done Lynn is taking Kait to Maryland for this testing--

Thanks for everything Galahad--I surely do appreciate the few minutes U take to reply--
