Bald Eagle
Well, I saw my first live and wild bald eagle in flight yesterday. My boss and I were out looking at a job site, which happens to be a slope failure along a river, and when we arrived a bald eagle was flying over the river. What a BIG and magestic bird.

I saw my first ones in Yellowstone this summer - they are amazing to see! A guy at the viewing point said he was from Florida and that they "see them there all the time" - he wasn't too impressed...
We saw several while we were there, and I stopped to look in amazement each time - they are special birds!

I see them occasionally here in lower Michigan. There are a few nesting pairs within 50 miles of me. In the UP (upper peninsula) they are so common that my kids get tired of me pointing them out.
Most of our eagles migrate and I'm sure many of them end up in Florida. Florida does have its own resident population.

Be kind to everyone, because you never know what battles they are fighting.
Bald eagles are still officially classified as "threatened", but actually they're found in every state in the US except Hawaii. They're also common all over Canada.
Regarding the toy poodle, that's unfortunate, of course, but that gives you an idea of how ranchers feel when they are forced by law to stand by and watch eagles carrying off their baby lambs, each spring. Nature may be beautiful, but it's also very cruel.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
