Mallard Ducks In Maryland Test Positive For Bird Flu
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Yep, that was a faulty link. It was a link to an RSS newsfeed - that's why your browser couldn't interpret it.
I've corrected the link in my first post, and it should work properly now. Sorry for the problem, and thank you for pointing it out.
Love,
Tex

Hi Shirley,
You're most welcome. I just noticed that I missed the location, also - it was Pennsylvania, not Maryland. Don't know where I got that. I'd never make a news announcer. LOL.

You are having one of my days, Wayne. The location is Maryland, unless I'm losing it.
Love, Shirley
WAIT......The article says Maryland - On the side it says Pennsylvania......
That link takes you to the Pennsylvania story which includes "The virus also has been found during the last month in Michigan and on Friday in Maryland. The Maryland mallards did not appear sick so the samples, collected on August 2 as part of a research project, were not given high priority when sent to USDA labs for testing."

Hahahahaha. Maybe I'm not losing my mind after all - I'm just a victum of circumstances. Apparently when I went back to correct my first link problem, Reuters had added the second newsfeed, or changed the first one.
The bottom line, though, is that apparently the H5N1 virus is beginning to show up in various locations in the NE. If it's classified under the same name as the virulent strain, I can't help but wonder why it's showing up here as a "low-risk" form.
