Did a Dumb thing!!! Really Dumb, homeless!

Ok here goes Family........I was doing dishes and putting things away when I walked to the cupboard/pantry to put away a can of Beans, dogs bowl of water directly under neath and next to DC/Converter....Does this conjure up a picture yet??? Well I dropped the Can of Beans into the bowl of water and emediatly picked it out set it on the counter and turned to grab a towle when Holy you know what erupted. Smoke, Loooked like mimi-thunder storm and sparks!!!!!! :mallet: Scared me to death....as soon as it stopped I jumped in the truck and went around to where Mike was filling his deer feeders and started to emediatly start to talk fast in a foriegn language, at least that's what Mike said.
After I calmed I told him what happened, :shithead: he came and looked and said that The water took out the DC/Converter and we needed a new one now. Of course I began to cry  cause I was mad at me, as we didn't need the added expense (Aprox 300.00)....he siad he wasn't mad at me and not to worry. We will take eother order it or find one tomorrow. So.......If you don't hear from me for a couple days, it's because wee are staying at SIL as we have no power. I just transferred all the food from the Ice Box in the trailer to outside Ice box and freezer a few minutes ago. I feel sooo very stupid. But I feel lucky that the whole trailer didn't catch fire. I will certainly thank the good Lord tonight. Anyway......Will post when we get back in the house. Love to you all Oma the Fire starter and destroyer of the Converter. :dollarsign:
May I be more compassionate and loving than yeterday*and be able to spot the idiots in advance

Oh, Oma ........... ............ you devil you!! You should lighten up on yourself. I feel really bad that you have the added expense, but that kind of accident could happen to ANYONE.......ANYTIME.

Good luck and I hope you won't be out of your home for too long.

Oh my gosh, you poor thing! It was just an unfortunate accident but I know how you feel. :mallet: I'm glad it isn't the dead of winter (if you have the dead of winter in Texas.) Good thing your sister-in-law can take you in. Hope the puppies are comfortable and glad it wasn't worse!
:bigbighug: for you and Mike.

I'm sorry, Oma. Bad stuff happens, and it's just an accident. It could easily have been your husband who did it. You wouldn't blame him would you? You have to be as nice to yourself as you would be to others.

Oma,

You scared me. When I first started reading your post, I was afraid that you did have a fire. It could have been a lot worse. I'm glad that Mike was so understanding, and I'm glad you didn't get hurt. There's always an electrocution risk, also, anytime water and electricity meet.

As everyone else has already pointed out, don't be so hard on yourself.

Love,
Tex

P S Kathy, the area of West Texas where Oma lives is certainly not as bad as Minnesota in the winter, but it can get mighty cold at times, when a blue norther blows in.
