Hi All,

I emailed Luce today, since she hasn't been around lately, to find out how her mom is doing. Unfortunately, her mom has had 2 hospital admissions from the E.R. but is now back home. She has a feeding tube and a lifeline in place, and Luce has some home health assistance. However, apparently the quality of the home health aides leaves a lot to be desired, so that Luce has to set her alarm to wake up every 2 hours all night in order to check that the lines are in place and that her mom has been re-positioned. If she doesn't, the aides fall asleep and/or do not do their job. I can't imagine how Luce is managing all of this. She is certainly a wonderful caregiver.

Anyway, it does not sound as if she will have time to visit us just now, but she asked me to say "hi" to everyone for her.

She didn't ask, but I'm sure she could use our good thoughts, vibes, and prayers.

Thanks for the update Polly and it surely does not sound like a good situation. My prayers and good thoughts are with her and also I hope she gets a health care worker that can stay awake and give Luce some down time.

Thank you, Polly, for inquiring about Luce and updating us. I honestly don't know how Luce keeps going. She has to be so exhausted. She is truly an amazing woman. He Mom is fortunate to have such a devoted daughter.

Thanks for the update Polly

It is not a good situation. I know how hard it is, because it is not long ago that we had to face a similar situation with my MIL...

I hope she will have the time to have a rest.

I´ll keep her and her Mom in my prayers, too.
I am very sorry for them
