Update and Deer

Post by annie oakley »

Since I was so upset all week about the changes in our work schedules, you all know I took today off. I called in and said I was sick. I used to handle stress by cooking and Baking. Well today That is just what I did. I made Chil, Homemade apple pie (low Sugar), Biscuits, and Pecan/Choc chip cookies, and Cranberry sauce (good On Vanillia Ice Cream)
Mike shot a deer this morning. He had a weird rack. One horn straight up on one side and a fork on the other side. I think the inderior Bucks have been breading. other than that, he was a good looking Buck. He is now at the deer processors.
We are keeping the hides this year. I have it laying on a work table with salt all over it. Hope the coons leave it alone. We defrosted the freezer today and put all the freezer burned stuff out for the critters to eat. There wasn't much, but they will be happy.
Anyway I felt better today.. except I talked to my Sister and her loving Cappy ( abreed like a pomaranian can't remember the exact breed) died yesteday. He was 17 yrs old, a retired show dog.
Other than That I am going to Crochet some and read a little. Love Oma

The Chili turned out good, and so did the cookies and Biscuits. We took the deer to the meat processing place and are treating the hide. I think I want to start keeping them. I may ask My Neighbor for one of his sheep skins the next time he has one die. I guess I'm wierd I like the western and wild look.
Anyway, Tomorrow it's back to the Salt Mine and we will see what happens. One day at a time right? Got to go and drink some green tea, settles the tummy. Love Oma
