Kait's ending of college

Well dear friends, it has been decided by Kait to finish this semester and thats it--

As she said to Lynn---*mom--U R not listening to me---I cannot continue due to my pain*!! ---the noises that rummage thru a college dorm ---TV's blasting---radios---kids having fun -laughing times are torment to her head--

But our family has to let Kait know that she is no FAILURE--that we are more proud of her for how she got thru all these past 4 years--how she gave her *all* @ college---we will always be proud of Kait~~~~

And she is suicidal----her psychologist and Lynn know this cus Kait has told them----she cannot bear the pain any longer---BUT she is afraid to take her life cus God will condemn her to hell~~~~

We remember the glowing Kait,@ her 8th grade dance,all gussied up in her purple gown--her beautiful hair done --all her poses,as a model would do, as I snapped away---
Enjoying 3 months of being a freshman and now wanting just to be better--to feel well--to be pain free----to know what life could be like @ this wonderful age of 18---trying NOT to believe that her dreams have ended~~~
So, our hearts ache for Kait--our hearts are heavy with fear as Kait has vocalized that she wants to end her pain~~~~

A few good thoughts to reach Kait---so that she can feel there is something for her~~~

Kait has achieved soo much, you must be so proud of her. It is probably disappointing that she is unable to finish college but just think of how much she has done under such a burden that she has had to bear. I remember the pic of her in her dance outfit, beautiful. all my love & good wishes for her are on the way Barb.

I feel so sorry for Kait. She did not deserve this.

However, I am hopeful that without the stress of continuing school, perhaps she can heal and in time get back to a better life. I would have loved to see her complete college in the next 4 years, but she must take care of herself too. Me time. We all talk about it. It's time for Kait to take her me time.

Lots of prayers and love being sent your way - for you, Lou, Kait and her family. I know she must feel like a failure but all you can do is console her and let her know that you don't think of her as a failure - she is a trooper to at least TRY!!! Many people wouldn't have the guts to even try to go to college.

I'm sure that her counselor is on top of things with the suicide thoughts. Is she still going to the doc for pain control???? Does that doctor know about these thoughts???

Remember to take care of yourself Barbara - you are the only one who can do that and we don't need you down and out.

Know that my heart and thoughts and prayers are coming your way - you are surely loved!

We can only hope that something will change for Kait--that the pain will let up and she can regain a normal life, which she can probably barely remember. From all you say, she is a remarkable girl to have accomplished all she has and if there is any fairness in the world, she will come out of this okay.

Dearest Barbara,

My heart aches along with yours. Kait has been a total example of one walking against the wind and still standing straight. She does not deserve the hand she has been dealt and I know that God, in some way, has something very special in mind for her. To end college is the smart move and I do hope she can rise above the negative thoughts she is having.

Frank's and my prayers are with Kati, you dear Barbara, Lou, Lynn and the rest of the family.

Hi Bubbs,

It is a sad situation and I can hear your sorrow for all that Kait has been through and what she will miss. Life sure isn't fair, is it?

Chronic pain can be extremely depressing. My first hope is for the pain to get under control. My prayers are with her.
