Prayers Needed
Well, Geoff's mom is going through health issues again. She had a colonoscopy Friday and they found a lesion. She will see the doc on Tuesday for the result of the biopsy, but Geoff thinks its cancer from the way the doc and nurses were acting. He said he only saw the one lesion. Anyways, we won't know until Tuesday, but I am really hoping it's not cancer. Seems like she just can't get a break.

Prayers on the way
I hope Geoff's Mom gets good news and will be okay, but if it is cancer, that it's caught early enough to be treated successfully.

Hi Katy,
I too, certainly hope it's not cancer. Please don't worry unnecessarily. You can't always go by the way doctors approach the topic. They are definitely biased toward cancer - IOW, anything even vaguely suspicious, is automatically cancer, in their minds, until proven otherwise.
I've been " tentatively diagnosed" with colon cancer, at least three times in the last 6 or 7 years, by roughly half a dozen different doctors, but so far, (thank goodness), they've all been wrong.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Prayers coming your way Kait. I hope the news is not the worst. I agree that the doctors and nurses seem to jump to the worst conclusion at times.
Take care of yourself.

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Ditto to all that has already been said.
Yes, medical training is aimed at first ruling out the most serious conditions.....and then working down a differential diagnosis of increasingly less serious illnesses.
Am keeping all fingers and toes crossed for your family.
