Hi Oma,
Our ice melted today. It was a different world by mid-afternon. It was supposed to get to 48 degrees, but it only made it to 39. Still, it was enough to melt most of the ice, (except in protected areas). All together, we had 6 inches of water, after it all melted, but most of it fell before it started freezing, on Sunday, and Sunday night. Water is standing everywhere in the fields, because the soil is completely saturated, and so it has nowhere to go, but to evaporate.
We might have some wet or frozen stuff fall tonight, but the temp is supposed to stay just above the freezing mark, so I doubt that any of it will stick. Any rain that falls now, is going to run off, so flooding will probably be a problem again by Saturday. Our next ice storm is scheduled for about Monday night, but that weill depend on how far the temperatures fall.
I hope that you can get out of that icy situation pretty soon, too. This has been a long, drawn out spell of bad weather.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
You guys be careful. Our next storm is almost here with another one right behind it. The snow is supposed to start tomorrow night but we might get it sooner. This one is supposed to be mostly snow thank goodness.
We had to put our 18 year old cat down tonight. Since my husband had been home around 5:00 she had several seizures. She had two while I was home the first 15 minutes this evening. The vet said the seizures were probably from a chemical imbalance. They could do blood work and possibly prolong her life for a short time. I wouldn't want that for me let alone my baby so I asked him to put her down. My daughter is 16 and doesn't know life without her. They have slept together since my daughter was 2. I printed a copy of the rainbow bridge. My daughter is with her boyfriend right now. It was very nice of him to come over. Hopefully the bridge will be some comfort to my daughter (and me too!) he BF's family has a cat about the same age as ours.
Take care, Brenda

Shirley,
I also have wandered to and fro on that site. Some of the stories of the pets are hysterical since they are mostly written as the pet being the writer. Also amazed at the ages that they lived to be.

Tx Brenda,
Deepest sympathy from me too. I think losing a pet is life's biggest bummer. I am not embarrassed to admit that, for me, it is every bit as agonizing as losing a person. I have many past pets waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, and I look forward to being with them all again someday.
Have you ever read any of the accounts of folks who have had near-death experiences (NDEs)? I was comforted to learn that some of them saw their old pets again along with certain deceased family members and friends as they went thru the near-death experience. Usually after going thru the tunnel and arriving at the white light. "Whatever" this experience is all about, I was excited to hear that our old pets may be a part of it.
Love,
Polly

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Polly & others -
thanks for your kind words. That is interesting about the NDEs. I'll have to do a search on the web.
Right now DD and I are just about to leave to go bowling. I run a youth league on Saturday mornings. This is the only reason I am leaving. We have about 3 inches of snow and still falling. Will probably have a lot of no shows. I live about 5 minutes from the center in good weather. Getting there will not be a problem for me. the manager and I agreed to tell any parents that call to use their own judgement but we would be there. We are supposed to get 10 inches by tomorrow morning.
Take care,
Brenda/Amarillo
