Ground Flax Seed or Flax Seed Oil

Post by mle_ii »

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a form of Ground Flax Seed or Flax Seed Oil that has been ok for folks here. Given that it's like a grain my concern is that it might be manfactured/processed/packaged along with other grains that I may be alergic to.

So has anyone here used any products and not had a problem with it?

My main reason for using Flax seed as opposed to say Fish Oil is to get the ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) not found in fish oil. The interest in the ground flax seed is for more fiber.

Any thoughts, ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

You may need to grind it yourself. If I remember correctly, ground flax seed loses it's potency pretty fast.

I think that Karen used to use it in smoothies - maybe she still does.
