About Us

The 50-plus founding members of this website met originally on a wonderful website developed by Sally Read, which provided information and support for those with microscopic colitis (MC) and their families. When Sally decided to close down and leave her website in May, 2005, one of the members, Wayne (tex), invited any members who wished to stay in touch with each other to email him. Because of the immediate and large response to his invitation, Wayne quickly and graciously obtained state-of-the-art forum software and began to set up a new MC Board.

This Board was kept private from May until July 15, 2005, so that the founding members could pull together the most up-to-date and accurate information on MC and related diseases as well as document their own many years of experience with MC. All of the information offered on this website has been agreed to and developed by a group (consensus) process. The intent of the founding group was to develop THE best resource anywhere for MC information and support and to continue with Sally's tradition of providing it in a warm, caring, family-type setting.

The founding members believe that Sally's original MC Board was often the major factor in our ability to regain our health and sanity after having been diagnosed with MC. It is for this reason that we are so anxious to offer the same kind of assistance to those recently-diagnosed with MC. We wish to continue the tradition of "paying back" some of the incredible knowledge and loving support that we were so fortunate to receive. In a nutshell, that's who we are and why we are here!
