No Skiing...whaaaa!
Sigh....I had the physical therapist at school look at my knee. I bought a stretchy brace and pain patch thingys, but it was still sore. She did some tests and said that I strained the achilles tendon in my knee with possible micro lesions. I have to be super careful walking in the soft snow tomorrow...and no skiing for 2 weeks. She said to try to stay off stairs...ugh...my bedroom is upstairs...sigh....of course my tail bone is still killing me too, but can't put a cast on that! Nite nite...JJ
Hi Jill,
Sorry to hear the bad news, but at least nothing's broken, and two weeks is not really all that long - it would be a heck of a lot longer, if something was broken.
If the tailbone is really bad, you may need to get one of those inflatable ring cushions, for sitting. Looking back to the time when I bruised mine, I was too hard-headed to consider using one of those rings, and my tailbone didn't stop hurting for over a year and a half - until I was pretty much immobile for a while, due to recovering from surgery.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Wow...that is a long time Tex. I injured my tail bone before, and it took monthss to heal. This time, I can sit without pain. I think I injured it right above it or something. Sitting is the best position right now...bending over is very painful and stairs too. I don't know what is what, but I had to bend over to feed my cat this morning and the pain was not as great. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Yes, I am very, very lucky that my knee isn't worse. The therapist said my knees are in good shape otherwise...that was good news. I just wish I could ski because it helps me release stress...which I have plenty of right now...sigh.
The offical word about the death of our student is that she died Wednesday morning of a heart attack. Her service is in our school chapel on Thursday afternoon.

Goodness Sakes Jill!!
You are one bummed up lady !!!!!! Not fun waiting for the healing process to end and being back to your normal self!!!
Years ago I took my children roller skating and was buzzing along and another child lost his balance and kicked my skates right out from underneath me and I went down so fast that I couldn't catch myself! Talk about seeing stars and having a bruised tail bone.. I know it took months to heal.. I did alot of soaking in a warm bath!!!!!
It's so upsetting to hear of that young girls death..
Thinking of you!!!
Love

So Sorry about the ban on skiing but it's more important to heal. Two weeks doesn't sound like long at all for something like that to heal. I would expect longer. I've never broken my tailbone but Bill has and he was hurting for a looooong time. Had to sit on the pillow like Tex mentioned.
Good Luck!!
