Fungus, IBD and Celiac Disease

Post by Magyar »

Hi,

I found a really interesting article:

http://www.mercola.com/2003/sep/13/infl ... isease.htm

that discusses a potential source for bowel inflammation as fungus. It explains that celiacs sometimes don't respond to a gluten-free diet because fungus is present in corn and other grains. It also suggests that taking an anti-fungal could cure celiac disease.

Anyway, I ordered a copy of the book and I just started Diflucan yesterday in addition to nearing three weeks of a starch-, sugar- and dairy-free diet.

This would explain the link between the recurrence of my MC symptoms and a bout with ringworm in 2002 despite following a GF diet.
