Very Important also!!!!
I was so upset with all this---so when I got home I went to the store and bought ONLY a pint of ben and jerry's and ate the whole thing--then I had a dark chocolate bar---70 % cocoa----ate that all too---
I figured U do everything right and it turns out wrong so why not just eat all the wrong stuff and maybe things will turn out right!!!!
Good thinking--isnt it????
and Galahad right from the carton!!!!! no cup for us!!! Right!!!

the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control
Right! Why dirty up a bunch of dishes, when all you really need is a spoon?
I can't argue with your logic, 'cause you might be right. One thing about it, that ice cream and chocolate bar should give you some energy.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Mags,
I know how frustrated you are with this rotten MC. You have tried so diligently! But it seems that you are rarely in a position to totally eliminate all of the foods that you might need to. For example, you had to eat yogurt because of your teeth. And you truly cannot be paleo as a vegan. And trying paleo, it must be so difficult for you to eliminate all grains - especially rice - since grains are so much a part of the vegan diet. You totally have my sympathy.......you are always between a rock and a hard place with regard to diet, IMHO.
I have always thought that you probably have all of the intolerances that I do (and maybe even more!). It's a bummer, that's for sure.
Just a thought - have you thought about a trial of Entocort? It has helped so many here. Maybe it would "jump-start" your gut, allowing diet to work more easily? At least that has been the experience of some here.
It will be the best day ever when you experience some relief, and I will be clapping and cheering louder than anyone.
Love,
Polly

Morning Polly,
You are right, I have been extremely diligent. So far as Paleo, I have dropped ALL grains and even the rice. I have not had rice since I started the diet and am eating 6 oz. of fish minimum every day. No meat but the fish is there. I have even given up beans which are my favorite and really only include Paleo food with the exception of cream in my coffee in the a.m. 1 cup max because of the heart. Candy is gone, egad - salads are no more because of the continuing teeth problems - was nice for awhile, fish is in - Sorry Buddah but I need to do what I need to do. I am just tired of adjusting and adjusting.
Medications are not at the forefront of my thoughts including Entocort since every one they have given me has fallen flat. It just seems that what I come up with in medical conditions there is no apparent rhyme or reason. The cardiac proglem, Macrocytosis - not an alcoholic, aids or diabetes patient, bone growing teeth when all are gone, CC one only knows why, etc. I am just at wits end right now and need to lay back and figure the best course for me.
I am probably going to see if I can get, after vacation in September, a referrral from my GP to a clinic that will do a full-blown work up of everything. I cannot continue without energy, sleeping too much, crapping all the time and just being worn out. I feel there is an underlying cause but nothing seems to be showing up in blood tests, etc.
In the meantime, I am taking it a day at a time.
Love, Mags
P. S. - your advice to me has always been paramount and I really do take it to heart. Just don't want to mix in any more meds due to the Lipitor and Toprol.

Mornin' Mags!
I didn't realize you were eating so much fish. I have been feeling so good since I started eating fish 4-5 times a week about a month ago. I suspect that a fisher-gatherer diet is more healthful than the hunter-gatherer diet. We're lucky to live in an area with abundant seafood, don't you think?
Regarding your little bit of cream every morning................if I did that I would have explosive D, all day every day. No kidding. For me (and I think others here) dairy is the worst offender in terms of D. If I eat even the tiniest bit of dairy (one teeny bite of cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter, milk chocolate) I get battery acid D within 2-3 hours. With gluten, I get only a softer BM about 16-18 hours later.
It sounds as if work is a major source of stress. Are you anywhere close to retirement?
Have a relaxing holiday weekend, my dear friend.
Love,
Polly

Polly, does dairy even now give you issues? Also, I can't remember have you been tested for allergy? Dairy was the worst for me too, battery acid and lots of time on the pot. :( Gotta believe that it's the bacterial overgrowth for me. I'll be sure to experiment with it once I'm off the antiboitic and have taken a probiotic for at least a week.
