Hi...wow, the doc called me at 7PM with the CT Scan results. I have mild Hydro nephrosis (sp?) I have some sort of blockage that is keeping my kidney from draining properly. He referred me to a urologist. I also have a cyst in my kidney that he said is no big deal. He said he is not thinking cancer....whew...in fact...the CT scan may have picked-up something that isn't there. He said it is not an emergency, but could cause problems down the line if left as is. I think I will make this guy my primary care physician...I liked him on the phone. I will also drop off another specimen tomorrow...I am having more than the regular amount of eliminations...now that the poo is under control, I am having pee problems...go figure!

Jill,
I'm not saying you have this, but if your symptoms persist, (IC can come and go), they could be due to interstitial cystitis. The increased frequency, and hematuria, (red cells in urine), without the presence of bacteria, are a match. It also seems to be linked with IBDs, and doctors have a problem diagnosing it. It can occur with or without pelvic pain. See if any of this looks familiar:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
So glad it isn't more serious, JJ. Also glad you went ahead and had the test and I'm still that "the CT scan may have picked-up something that isn't there" as your Dr. mentioned. Even if that's not the case, it sounds very fixable as C.Mary said. That's good news.

Jill,
It sure could be a stone, alright. That could definitely cause all the symptoms that you describe.
Good luck with the urologist consultation.
