My husband and I climbed Mt. Rainier 23 years ago almost to the day. It was absolutely beautiful. We did a snow and ice seminar and actually made it to the top!

Wow Pat..that is quite an accomplishment! My former BIL did it too and said it was not easy! You must have been in great shape! It seems like several people die each year try to make it to the summit.....she is a beautiful but dangerous lady...TTFN...JJ

JJ,
I was in great shape then. Several people died the year or so before we climbed in an avalanche. Very scary. We went up the easiest route, but still very difficult. It is all glaciated. We were on rope teams and used ice axes and crampons. Very exciting and fun but very exhausting. I'm in pretty good shape even 23 years later, but this MC has gotten me down some.

Pat - that sounds like quite an experience. Sure glad you were able to do that. I don't know if I could have or not (I'm talking 23 years ago too.). I've never done any climbing like that. It must give you a real sense of achievement.
