Well , as U all know---I am very sentimental/emotional and now for sure U all will think me *nutz*

I was never a baseball ADDICT but growing up U were either a YANKEE fan or DA BROOKLYN BUMS---naturally U all know where I stood--

I went to 2 ball games---and it was xciting---BUT every year watched the 2 best teams battle for first place---
I knew all the areas----like a foul ball--strike--waaaaaaay out in left field-
bases loaded----stealing a base---etc.-- and I screamed and jumped up and down with the rest of the stadium--it was thrilling~~~

And now Phil Rizzuto---another great--warm-gentle-MAN has gone to a better place---he was so luved--not for being a Yankee --but being the kind of person that he was---
Maybe thats why I always say *HOLY COW*--and he will have heaven jumpin ~~~~~~

I might not know all the players but I can just about remember the best of them--

And NOOOOOOO---I wasnt around for the Babe----

I didnt like him anyway----twas from what I read about him----

I guess the Scooter and Merv---are in good hands now---U got it---I luved Merv too----

Hi Barbara,

They don't make 'em like that anymore. These days it seems that whenever a "super" athlete turns up, it's only a matter of time before he ends up in jail for some crime he committed, or he's accused of using steroids. In the good old days, it was all about love of the game - these days it's all about money.

Galahad U are right-----not saying that the players waaaaaaay back were angels but they sure werent like todays professionals--

But I guess this is the circle of life----yet can U imagine a person being so *honored* for their image and for the funny things he said---and how humble he was---

That says pretty much for any one whose death touches so many peoples--
