Ashlee's surgery update

Post by Umber »

Her surgery was today at 3:45. We both decided I should stay home with Kylee rather than try to deal with her in the hospital waiting room. I sure felt bad that I wasn't there.

Her surgeon was such a nice man. He called me the minute it was over and let me know everything went well. He spent a few minutes answering my questions and didn't even try to hurry me along. I really appreciated him being so helpful. Ashlee had it all confused. She had an endoscope on Wednesday. They were looking for a bleeding ulcer and didn't find one. They removed the gall bladder today.

She was still quite groggy when we went to visit and in a lot of pain. Kylee was so happy to see her Mommy and gave her lots of hugs and kisses :pulsinghearts: . She was intrigued by all the tubes and loved the buttons on the bed. She charmed all the nurses, they would come in she would say hi and smile  .

She should be able to come home tomorrow. She isn't sure if she will stay with us or have a friend stay with her at her house. We will take care of Kylee until Sunday night. I sure hope I can keep up with her!

Thanks for all of your well wishes. You are the BEST!

Hugs,

Lori

Lori,

Thanks, I was looking for an update, and there you were!
Sure am glad everything seems to be going well! I'm sure that as soon as the abdomen gets deflated, Ashlee will feel MUCH better.
Just relax and have fun with Kylee -- love the picture, by the way!

Yours, Luce

I'm really glad things have gone well so far. Did you ever find out why they took the whole gallblader and not just the stone?

Here's hoping you all get through the weekend without any major upsets.

Lori,

Whew. That's a relief. I have been worrying, too. But what caused the anemia if they didn't find an ulcer? Did the blood work show that the anemia was likely due to some bleeding somewhere? I don't recall anemia being a main feature of GB disease. Ashlee hasn't had any D has she?

Please give Ashlee my love and a gentle hug, too. And tell her to feel better ASAP. Don't feel guilty. Ashlee is a great mom, and I'll bet it was a tremendous relief to her that you were home with Kylee.

Love,

Polly

Hi Lori,

Glad things went well with the surgery. Hopefully things will start going uphill for her now.

Enjoy the baby = but don't get yourself too worn out! I know mine run me ragged sometimes - I wonder how I ever kept up with my girls when they were small! I know - I was YOUNGER!!! LOL

I am glad to hear that Ashlee's surgery went well. I would ask you to come over here and visit with Kylee, but my house is a hazardous place right now. If there is anything I can do, just call. Like I could come and visit on Sunday or something?

Lots of love,

Sally

Lori,

Im very glad that your daughters surgery went well!! That was so scary!
I hope the anemia gets resolved. I'm anemic, and the fatigue is awful.

Hello Lori, I have been waiting for you to come and tell us how Ashley is doing. I am glad that its over for her, she just might need to have some help for a bit, mostly she will need some rest to heal. I am sure Gramma won't mind looking after Kylee when ever she can, am I right? And speaking of little Kylee, she is just beautiful. I can hardly wait till Feb. is here and I have a little one of my own to pamper. Maybe, Ashley won't move now??? Can only hope, right?
